Wow. Where can I possibly start? Well the term friend is pretty tricky you know because it can mean a lot of things. What confuses me first is the fact that if a girl/guy is good friends with a guy/girl respectively what would you call it? Taking the fact that its not a romantic relationship, if a girl is good friends with a guy she has to call him her boyfriend simply because he is her friend and he is a guy and that makes boy + friend = Boy Friend right? But that’s not how it’s done in real life huh? Is she says he is her boyfriend people would anyway think the couple are romantically involved in a relationship. I wonder whether there is another term people can use to make it clearer about their relationship but it doesn’t seem been used yet I guess. Maybe we will have to wait till this issue becomes a real worry to everyone to bring about a change.
Diving into our major topic “Best Friends”, what do you think would be the best definition? There are so many ways to define the word friend but the best would be “person you know well and regard with affection and trust”. Yup I think that summons the whole term friend. Do we really regard are friends with affection and trust? Do we respect them? Are we there for them when they need us? Or is the sentence “I’m your best friend and I will be with you when ever you need me to support you” a complete utter fake? I have heard that you should be even ready to sacrifice yourself for your friend. But common you don’t have to go to that extreme you know. Just do the basics right by being there for them when they need you the most. I hear people boost so much of being best friends but what’s the use if you cannot stand up to your word? You become a total looser. I mean is it so hard to stick to your word by being there for that person? It’s not like he/she is telling you to assassinate someone or asking you to do the extraordinary right?
Little things go a long way people. If we cannot do the miniature stuff how can we even think about the impossible? It’s like in this book I read once you know where the author says “think for a minute how many people will cry for you the day you die? Because if they do it’s simply because you have touched them (spiritually ok?) or you have been a huge impact in their life” Your friends aren’t asking you to do miracles you know. A best friend is a person who will stand by you at good times as well as the bad ones. A person who will say that he/she is proud of you. A person who will stand by your word when your right and even when you are wrong. A best friend is to be kept for ever and is sure to make a difference in your life. Think about it people because it maybe no big deal for us but it is a really big deal once you think about it.
